“lovely evening with delicious food
The tasting menu was wonderful...beginning with the appys at the bar with the chef, not to mention the accompanying wine pairing. Good ambiance, good staff! Worth the cost if you enjoy well prepared food”
From the moment we arrived Haar created an amazing experience. The food and wine pairings were exceptional! Each bite was delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommend the wine pairings which brought out the essence of the courses they were paired with. Service was over the top!”

With all the ups and downs in the food industry, I will only give out my opinions on good restaurants. There were plenty of bad meals on our tour of Scotland, thankfully this one was one of the best.
Service A+ I loved the mix of seasoned waitstaff along with what appeared to be students. Service is quick and efficient. Very friendly.
Ambiance A+ They took a nasty old bar and transformed it into a comfortable space.
Cleanliness A+ I base this on the overall impression, but they got an A+ because the bathroom was spotless.
Food A+ With a set tasting menu there are always going to be some items you like better than others. Everything on this menu was delicious. I LOVED the oysters and who knew such great ones are found off the Scottish coast?
I would eat here again. That pretty much sums up how I rate restaurants.”
Tried out the sister to dulse which i enjoyed recently. We were in st. Andrews and after a fantastic seafood experience in edinburgh we wanted to see what ‘the next level up’ would entail.
The first stop was chefs table.
Fun and the server had a great knowledge of our pairing wines… not sure if it was a chef like explained as he knew a bit too much… but was fantastic.
Enjoyed every course but was excited for nanas banoffee as per michelin guide review… it didnt appear… maybe next time”
As regular diners in St Andrews we tend to know the best eateries in the town.
However last night was our first time at Haar—and we have found a new star in a town that has more that it’s fair share of good restaurants
All of the food was exceptional with the Dean Banks signature dish of St Andrews Bay lobster in mirin butter was outstanding, the best seafood we have had anywhere in the world
We didn’t do the wine pairing but if you are looking for something special that will last long in the memory, get a booking at this place!”
I visited this restaurant with my 3 sisters to celebrate our sister retiring. As soon as we walked through the door we were warmly greeted and made to feel special. The food was beautiful and before each dish we were given a very detailed explanation as to what we were about to eat. We also had the wine pairing with each course, each wine matching the dish perfectly. We left the restaurant 4hours after arriving with all of us agreeing that it had been a beautiful evening”

Visited last week with some friends for the first time & the 4 of us all agreed that it was one of the best dining experiences we had had for a long time. The service, presentation & quality of food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the lunch 7 shall return again soon.”
We had a fabulous lunch here last Thursday. We had dinner here a few months ago so just had to return. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff could not have been better. The food was out of this world! Especially the beef course!! We have booked again for a family celebration for the end of September”

Chef Brooklyn on the chefs snack bar… your friendly welcome to the restaurant was a great start to our evening.. and the snacks oh lord how amazing! THE OYSTER!!!! out of this world.
All of our mains… wagu and lobster included…. simply artwork. the taste and the presentation was sublime. The Cod? never change It!!!
Drinks… we had a few mocktails and every single one was again amazing… deep flavour and beautiful garnishes.
last of all the lovely gentleman and young lady that served us your explanations of each dish..brilliant! full understood everything we ate!
This restaurant is a must visit highlight of St. andrews for sure!!”
