My husband and I booked into Haar after walking the old course last Sunday. The restaurant looks classy on the outside and the vibe continues inside. It is modern and comfortable and enhanced with a lovely warm welcome. We ate from the summer lunch menu which can only be described as delightful, the flavours were stunning and presentation was a work of art. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. We don’t often eat in fine dining restaurants but this experience was such a treat we are planning to return for the full tasting menu.”

We started with Brooklyn for our first two tastings, which included a flavorful amuse bouche with Caviar and a huge oyster shooter, also with Caviar. She made each plate, as she shared the inspiration and ingredients for tasting. Both had wonderful flavors that hit our tastebuds individually and as a bite. WOW!
Brianna provided the wine pairings, which were carefully selected for each dish and were perfectly matched to complement the flavors on the plate. Our server was primarily Nicole, and she continually checked in regarding our preferences and progression through the tasting. Everything was exceptional and it was a very memorable meal.
Thanks to all the amazing work in the kitchen by the chefs and staff to provide such a wonderful experience. They even delivered a couple of the plates to share what was being served. A team effort of skilled professionals from front of the house to the kitchen! We highly recommend!”
Thank you so much to all the team at Haar who helped to make my husband's birthday so memorable. We had a wonderful time from start to finish, beginning with a warm welcome from Sam who put us completely at ease and explained to us how the menu works . I treated myself to a champagne sour cocktail with a delicious crème brûlée topping before we were shown to chef's table by Brooklyn ( apologies if spelling is wrong!) . She talked us newbies in mouthwatering detail through all the snacks , my favourite being the Arbroath smokie tart and my husband's the beef tartare with kimchi. On to the tasting menu ,all served on beautiful crockery, of which my personal favourite was the trout ceviche and my husband's the lamb loin with a tamarind glaze . Nana's banoffee was a great twist on an old favourite too . To accompany this , my husband did the wine pairing with much appreciated help from Brianna whose wide knowledge meant that each course was beautifully complemented. All this plus a
fab table by the window , we couldn't have asked for a better evening and we can't wait to make a return visit and maybe even stay for the night!”
My wife and I ate at the “old” Haar pre Covid and thoroughly enjoyed the experience,we had lunch yesterday and were blown away again.Everything was simply delightful,staff were knowledgeable,friendly and efficient.Looking forward to coming back again,worth the trip from Berwick!”

I recently visited for my anniversary for lunch. The courses were delightful and you can tell there is thought put into every dish. The atmosphere added to our food journey, and my wife had raved about it ever since. I would recommend the espresso Haartini. This place is a must for St. Andrews!”
We loved our meal and overnight stay. Booked this on Saturday morning for a Saturday overnight and 5 course tasting menu. Hotel room was ideal for what we needed in the cosy room. The location of the hotel is great. Short walk to the beach, 18th green or the pubs. We had the 5 course tasting menu and added on another few courses. The food was delicious and the service was great, we enjoyed the full experience from the snacks at the chefs table to leaving at the end of the night. It wasn’t rushed like some of these places can do. Dean banks was also working and visited every table to serve a course which was a nice touch. Would highly recommend and we are looking forward to our next visit.”
