We booked this fine-dining seafood restaurant during a recent stay in St Andrews. I wasn't too sure about all the fish on the tasting menu but was brave - and my bravery paid off! Delicious tastes of the sea and all rounded off with the most delicious of desserts. Friendly staff and a table with a view made for a great dining experience.”
We had a delightful experience at Haar restaurant. I had been looking forward to it for ages, and it didn't disappoint. The food (we had the 5 course taster menu, and added in a couple of courses) was amazing and so beautifully presented. The bread and homemade butters were gorgeous too. The staff were extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine and the surroundings were very nice. I liked that we had our 'starters' at the bar downstairs, where we were able to watch the chef prepare them. At times, where we were sitting, it was a wee bit noisy as there was a group of diners having a good time, but this did not detract from the very special evening that we had, taking our time eating a beautiful range of foods.”
Booked lunch tasting menu, but staff really plugging £89 full tasting menu. Had to ask for lunch menu. Fine dining well presented and flavoursome. Ordered starter and main but not dessert. We were not asked to order dessert, and while we waited for staff to take our dessert order, two desserts just arrived. Luckily, it was one we favoured. Would recommend Nanas bannoffi. Was art on a plate and felt guilty about putting a spoon into this beautiful creation. It tasted divine. The wine list is extensive, but prices are extortionate.”

Absolutely outstanding experience for lunch with my father. From the moment you enter Haar the journey from entering the restaurant to finishing your meal is all connected and seamless. Welcoming, knowledgeable and extremely talented front of house staff serving exquisite produce from the kitchen. Best scallop dish I've ever eaten and I have a scallop shell tattoo.”

firstly, the room was so nice that I ended up proposing to my partner in there.
the food was amazing. St Andrews has always suffered sub par restaurants compared to its price point, but Haar is a step above.
We took the tasting menu and tried the whole experience. I highly recommend doing the same!”
