Enjoy an iconic Haar tasting menu, at home

We are bringing the finest of dining to the people of the United Kingdom. Haar at Home has been delivering unforgettable ‘at home’ culinary experiences up and down the country since 2020. A lockdown project that grew arms and legs. We have been bringing some of Dean’s favourites to the people of the UK for several years. But, in a world first, we are now offering the iconic Haar Restaurant tasting menu to be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home. Five (or six) delicious courses have been carefully curated by Dean and the team, bringing Haar to doors up and down the country. This luxury box is perfect for those who can’t make it to St. Andrews.

To start, we have the ever-popular corn and sunflower seed bread with a deliciously savoury miso butter to spread on thick. Served with all our tasting menu experiences. This bread has become somewhat famous in our restaurant. After just one bite, you’ll know why.

Then, we have a pork belly with kimchi puree, pear puree and puffed pork skin. The pork is cooked to perfection and will literally melt in your mouth. It is teamed with pear and kimchi purees, and to add a little texture, some puffed pork skin brings a little bit of crunch. This is a true flavour bomb that graced Haar’s menu for quite some time last year. We couldn’t help but add it to this iconic tasting menu.

Next, we have the trout pastrami with a Café de Paris emulsion and pickled daikon. This dish pays homage to two world-renowned, iconic establishments. Our trout pastrami is marinated in a blend of spices that wouldn’t be out of place at the much-loved Katz’s Deli in New York City —putting our own twist on it, of course. Meanwhile, the Café de Paris emulsion is a node to the ever-famous butter recipe from the iconic Geneva restaurant. Pickled daikon brings a bit of acidity and crunch to the table. The perfect balance of flavours that you won’t forget in a hurry.

It really is no secret that when visiting Haar, you must try Chef Dean Banks’ signature lobster, so we’ve added the option to include this as part of the tasting menu. Should you so desire? A whole St. Andrews Bay lobster with a mirin butter sauce. Just one bite, and you’ll see why this is Dean’s signature dish, trust us.

For the main, we have some beef bavette with black garlic butter, seaweed potatoes and asparagus. Beef and garlic butter. A match made in heaven. Add a little Dean Banks pizzazz, and you’re onto a real winner. This is teamed with the much-loved seaweed roast potatoes and some peak-season asparagus. This truly is the stuff of dreams, and we’re so here for it.

You’ve always got to finish with a little something sweet. A miso caramel and chocolate pave is for dessert, and believe us when we say this. Other desserts could never. Soft, melty, rich, decadent. You’ll be dreaming of this one for weeks on end.
