When thinking of hotels in St. Andrews, you wouldn’t always think of Haar Restaurant off the top of your head. But, since taking over the former Golf Inn, we have always had the vision to refurbish the upper floors into luxury rooms to stay the night in. This vision has become a reality, with the rooms being bookable from June onwards.
The rooms have been designed with a contemporary mix of character and luxury. Depending on which room you decide to stay in, they offer stunning views of the North Sea, West Sands, or the iconic Old Course.
Each room comes as part of a package offering, with dinner, bed and breakfast.
You will not find a better hotel in St. Andrews that gives both a luxurious stay and an incredible dining experience all rolled into one fantastic offering.
Haar Restaurant with Rooms is brought to you by Chef Dean Banks. Since relocating to our forever home, Dean always had the vision to refurbish the upstairs rooms into the stunning suites we now have today – allowing our guests to enjoy the whole Haar experience.
Dean has spent his whole life passionate about food, which shines through in his cooking. With a career that has taken him around the world, he has experienced many cultures and their approach to cooking – allowing him to showcase this in all his dishes.
The Dinner
On the evening of your stay, the team will welcome you into our genuinely magnificent dining area to enjoy a five-course tasting menu by MasterChef: The Professionals finalist Dean himself.
Our tasting menus frequently change as per the delicious seasonal ingredients our team sources. But you can rest assured that each course will be something extraordinary. The ingredients are sourced locally to ensure the best dining experience possible, with our lobster being caught metres from the premises in St. Andrews Bay. Expect to see favourites like Dean’s signature lobster with mirin butter or our Loch Etive trout with brown crab and an aromatic galangal curry sauce.
The Rooms
Bask in the sheer luxury of our unique rooms here at Haar. Each of our newly refurbished rooms has a large and super comfy bed, high-speed wireless internet, coffee machines, en-suite bathrooms, televisions, complimentary toiletries, desks and, of course, a delicious breakfast in the morning.
Each has been completed to the highest of standards, with a design consistent with our restaurant downstairs.
The Full Haar Experience
Upon check-in, our team will show you to your room to unpack and freshen up before exploring what St. Andrews has to offer (don’t worry, our team will have lots of tips on things to do).
When you return, you will join us at our restaurant for your tasting-menu experience; you can either stay with us to enjoy a few more libations or head back out into St. Andrews.
After you have enjoyed your evening, you can return to your luxurious room for the best night’s sleep. In the morning, we will invite you for a delicious breakfast with many different items, including shakshuka, eggs benedict or the classic full Scottish.
Once you finish breakfast, you can head back upstairs to get ready before checking out at a leisurely time.
